Reader's Corner
July 2007
Did you ever have one of those months? You know the ones
I’m talking about—the ones you wish you could
do over. Well, May was that kind of month for me. Three trips
to the doctor, two trips to the emergency room, a raging
sinus infection, three rounds of antibiotic, and a broken
wrist. Argh.
But that’s the past—all except the wrist, and
it’s getting better. I can sorta, kinda type with it
now.
The good news is, the cast comes off next week, and I’m
scheduled for an upgrade to a wrist brace. Yay! Though I
have to admit the cast is pretty. The orthopedic surgeon
let me choose the color. It was a toss-up between hot pink
and denim blue, but I went with the blue.
On the writing front, the really, really major news is, Something
Wicked—that’s the vampire biker
dudes book—is scheduled for release from Pocket
on July 28th. I joke about those vampire biker dudes,
but the truth is, I’m really proud of this book
and very excited about its release, even more excited
than I was when my very first book came out.
When Borders Group contacted my editor awhile back to ask
me to do a reader letter for their e-newsletter, I was thrilled.
One thing they wanted to know was if I had a book video they
could link to. I didn’t but decided right then to contact
the people at Circle of Seven Productions. They put together
a clever little book teaser to promote Something
Wicked. If you’re interested, follow
the link.
The rest of my summer is going to be spent doing book signings
and working on my next book, tentatively titled, Dark
Reflections, a book that’s loosely connected
to Something Wicked and includes
several cross-over characters. I can’t wait to finish,
so I can find out how it ends. What? You thought writers
knew everything about the story from the get-go? Heck, no.
There would be the fun in that?
